Swifty’s Story

My name is James Morgan Patterson, but they call me Swifty. My journey with Christ started back when my best friend invited me to church. I grew up in a non-Christian home and it was the first time I have ever been to church. In September of 2013, I was saved at a wild game dinner and started to attend regularly. In August of 2014, I started serving in the Media Ministry. When I graduated high school in May of 2016, I was offered an internship in the Media Ministry. Then in August, they hired me part-time to finish the mowing season on the Grounds Staff. In September, they transferred me to Indoor Maintenance where I scrubbed floors and did minor repairs around the building. In March of 2017, I got the opportunity to work in the Media Ministry and Indoor Maintenance. I did that until the spring of 2019 when I got promoted to be the Media Ministry Assistant. In June of 2020, I got promoted again to be full-time as the Media Specialist. I love my church and thankful to serve with God’s people at Millington First Baptist Church.
