First Baptist Church’s College Ministry seeks to provide opportunities for today’s college students to invade their culture with the love of Jesus Christ. Students attend colleges in our community, in the state, and nationally and we want our church to be a launch pad for each one to express their faith in a world that needs to see the love of Christ.
College Kickoff Week is coming up!!
August 2- Breakfast in the Fellowship Hall for current and upcoming college/career students
August 5- Cookout in the Grove, 6:30 p.m.
What do we do in our College/Career group?
1. We meet.
The College and Career Life Group invites you to join us Sunday mornings at 10:45 a.m. for Bible study in room A228. Grab you a cup of coffee, maybe even a donut and hear life application teaching.
Our midweek worship and Bible study meets on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. This is led by Bro, Joseph Brasher and deals with relevant topics that affect students today.
2. We greet
We are constantly looking for ways to connect with students of similar age. It may be that we have socials during Christmas break, cookouts for the summer, or any kind of activity where we can sit back and relax!
College Retreat- September 18-19 ($20/person)
Passion Conference- January 2-4 ($165/person- due December 1)
3. We reach.
Sharing the love of Christ is vital to all of us, but especially to our college students. We want everyone to be missionaries wherever they are, so that if it’s in a classroom or in a work meeting, people know that there is something different about us as followers of Christ!
Ways that we seek to connect with local college students:
Southwest Community College breakfast- Southwest Millington campus- 1st Wednesday (September-December) of each month, 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m.
